Of course, part of the nature of Noir is that everything cannot be explained, so this is but the drop of a thimble into the great ocean, as the Theologian said. Of course, I am always willing to improve upon things, so if you've a Noir-related brainwave, however insignificant or however earth-shaking, do drop me a line.
